
Kingston family gifted Disney trip from Baking Memories 4 Kids
A Kingston family recently received the holiday surprise of a lifetime. They were selected by Baking Memories 4 Kids to be gifted an all-expenses paid trip to Orlando.Frank Squeo runs the national charity. It sends children with serious medical conditions and their families to Disney World.After surprising the Bragga family with the good news, Squeo told Kaitlyn Bragga, mom to 4-year-old Lucy, that he couldn’t wait to meet the entire family.”When we heard about your story and Lucy there was a no brainer,” he said.Lucy has an incredibly rare disorder that has required numerous surgeries and therapies throughout her life.Her relentless medical journey is ongoing, but her mother said all things Disney light her up.”When she’s able to get in her little Disney world,” she said. “She is just a kid. She’s just a princess playing. She’s just having fun. She’s not that kid that’s going to those appointments and who’s struggling as much as she is.”The surprise for the Bragga family was the 265th time Squeo has gifted a weeklong, all expenses paid Disney dream trip. He’s been at it for 10 years.”I was very sick about 16 years ago,” Squeo said. “I found out it was almost stage four cancer. Every doctor said the cancer should be engulfed in all of your organs. There had to be a reason.”A lover of all things Disney and baker of a mean chocolate chip cookie, Squeo started Baking Memories 4 Kids. Every November and December, in his home, he and an army of volunteers bake, ship and send his signature cookies.”How can you ever give a better gift than a gift of memories to a family that can’t reproduce those memories again,” he said.The Bragga family is hopeful there are many memories to come and said, at Disney, they are sure to be magical ones.Find more information about purchasing Baking Memories 4 Kids cookies here.
